RAISING THE STANDARD ON short-term rental DESING.

A bedroom with a neatly made bed, brown and beige pillows, a patterned blanket, a wooden nightstand with drawers, a decorative lamp, and a window with brown curtains.

Built on a full-service approach, the studio leads projects from early market research through sourcing, project management, and installation.

Creating spaces that don’t just compete within their market, but stand out in a way that’s hard to ignore.

There's a formula to short-term rental design — and it works.

Bold colors, high-contrast moments, amenity-packed spaces built to photograph well and book fast. We know it well. But the formula has a ceiling, and the market is full of properties that hit it.

Rankin Design starts there and goes further. The focus is on spaces that are scroll-stopping and magazine-worthy — where the bones of a high-performing rental are elevated by real design skill, a layered point of view, and choices that feel intentional rather than obvious. Every detail is considered in the context of the full space, and the result is something that holds up long after the trend cycle moves on.

Design Is Only half the Job.

Rankin Design was created after seeing firsthand how many short-term rental interiors were designed without operational understanding.

An empty white sheet of paper with a pen placed on top of it.

Beautiful properties were failing in execution:

  • Difficult installs

  • Chaotic sourcing

  • Poor budget engineering

  • Disorganized project management

  • Inefficient systems

  • Inconsistent guest experience

So Rankin Design was built around a different philosophy:

Great STR design should make the property easier to operate, more profitable to own, and more memorable to experience.

The best hospitality spaces succeed because every detail has been considered before the first guest arrives.

Small bathroom with a white sink and cabinet, a mirror with a gold frame, a towel rack with white towel, and a black soap dispenser on the sink. The floor has black and white mosaic tiles. There is a wall sconce with two bulbs above the mirror, and a door on the left side of the image.
A beige badge-shaped logo with the text 'RANKIN DESIGN' curved at the top and 'STRATEGIC DESIGN FOR RENTALS READY TO STAND OUT' in the center. There is a black star-like symbol in the middle, with small text '@Rankin.Design' and 'ESTD 2020' at the bottom.

That level of thinking is what defines Rankin Design.
